A Kaizen/Lean Conversation Approach to Employee Engagement

I have been working at fusing a conversation approach with a lean approach to work for a large health care facility. As I was working on this I was also reading Rich DeVos’ new book, Ten Powerful Phrases for Positive People.

The book is a positive and powerful read and if you voice these phrases I believe you will get the most out of both others and yourself at work and home.

I encourage you to read the book but without any waste, here is the big 10:

  1. I’m wrong
  2. I’m sorry
  3. You can do it
  4. I believe in you
  5. I’m proud of you
  6. Thank you
  7. I need you
  8. I trust you
  9. I respect you
  10. I love you

You know these statement but do you use these statements? Do you voice these statements? Do you live these statements?

Imagine a workplace where all managers and leaders not only voiced these words but lived these words.

Now that would be a positive and powerful lean conversational approach to full employee engagement.

    Jan,
You guys are big into LEAN. I am just a little lean, kind of like Twiggy. Yet my figure is expanding so I am into ExerKaizen…a little bit each day. All the best back at work.
    David
