Don’t make strange

Zengagement: Really Knowing.

Ninety percent of the world’s woe comes from people  not knowing themselves, their abilities, their frailties, and even their real virtues. Most of us go almost all the way through life as complete strangers to ourselves ~ Sydney J. Harris.

    David,

I agree with this. Interestingly, one of the ways to find out who we are is to find out who we are not. Finding out and accepting who we are not is a place many choose not to go (I think) because they equate it with failure. Or because we think the things we are not are the things that count and that makes us feel inadequate.

I don’t believe we can be anything we want to be although it seems to be a North American staple belief. I realize that belief is supposed to be encouraging, but in practice, I think it leaves people feeling they don’t measure up.

Hum - interesting subject. Might have to blog about that.

    Regards,

    Michelle

    Michelle,
I hope you do blog about that. I have been focusing quite a bit on the power of no and this would fit with what you wrote.
    Thank you.
    David

EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT enriches everyone in the workplace. It is not sucking out more discretionary effort from employees.

Authentic employee engagement must function for the benefit of all: employees, leaders, organizations, and customers.

Employees have higher levels of satisfaction and contribution. Leaders are connected with employees and engaged themselves. The organization is functioning the way it should and customers are receiving the service they deserve.

Ultimately everyone is getting results that matter to them.

When this occurs, employee engagement transforms into a more powerful force --- workplace engagement.
