Effective social media use needs to increase

Although 79% of the 2,100 companies surveyed are either using or planning to use social media channels, a measly 12% of those firms feel that they are using them effectively. HBR Survey: http://hbr.org/web/slideshows/social-media-what-most-companies-dont-know/2-slide

Commentary

Just because we have usage does not mean that we have effective usage. What would make for effective usage to enhance and increase employee engagement through the use of social media?
