Employee Engagement Gets Better With Age
By David Zinger on Apr 7, 2008 in Employee Engagement
It is no accident that the word age is embedded in engagement.
Sirota Survey Intelligence completed a recent assessment of employee engagement differences across generations. Except for employes age 63 and older the differences between employees’ levels of engagement in their work is fairly narrow around 77% to 80%.
The Traditionalist generation - ages 63 and older - were the most engaged in their jobs with an engagement level of 84%. We neglect the value of older workers yet Siorta’s research is indicating that this is an overlooked resource of loyal and enthusiastic workers.

At 53 years of age, I can’t wait to be 63 and be even more engaged then I already am.
As Robert Browning said over a centry ago, Grow old along with me! The best is yet to be, The last of life, for which the first was made.
