Hello,

I love cats because they are having their own private life, unlike the dogs require constant attention and lots of training to behave up to my expectations.

IMHO - Dog lovers usually emotionally shallow people :(

but of course i love them (dogs) too :)

Rosa,
I am also more of a dog type person.

Thank you for your comment, you have such a wonderful and powerful blog.

I had my comments section moderated because I was getting spamed so I apologize for the delay in responding.

David

Truth be told David, I am not a cat person, however I love the way you have connected this to strengths-based leadership: excellent post.

One of the things that is so core to our Managing with Aloha philosophy relates to your question, "Do you love the people you lead?" In our training we talk about this relentlessly in regard to recruitment and hiring, getting managers to understand that they must like the people they hire and admire them. The prevailing thought that "I don't have to love them, just work with them," is wrong, wrong, wrong.

Caring is vital for great management and great leading: we cannot discount it, and we need so much more of it.
