Management and Musical Chairs

January 20, 2010 by David Zinger 4 Comments

Management 2.0

old red wooden chair

Command and control
lose their seat
to conversation and collaboration.

Organizations humanize into communities
while impositions
quiet respectfully into invitations.

Hierarchy is redrawn on the napkin
into a matrix.

Leadership levels
while mastering management
means
shifts happen.

Our white space decade ahead
invites us to get morph from management
than we ever imagined.

David, you included just right metaphors to zing the morph to the space decade. Well done!

    Robyn:
Thank you for the “zing” feedback. A few mixed metaphors but things will be mixed up in the decade ahead.

    David,
As a fellow poet, I salute you!
I like your 3 word theme: Engage-Mobilize-Produce. We can apply that to Management, I think.

    Terrence,

Thanks for the feedback. I write a poem every Wednesday and enjoy doing it. My 3 word theme changed from last year and has moved to mobilize and produce while the engage part remained the same.

    David
