Success: On our own but never alone

Employee engagement is never self-made. Connections with others are the glue, lubricant, and fuel for full engagement. Here is a snippet from Malcolm Galdwell’s Outliers:

No one — not even rock stars, not professional athletes, not software billionaires and not even geniuses — ever makes it alone.

In terms of employee engagement, who is helping you and who are you helping?

    David …

Your point is key … across all boundaries. We are all so connected in so many ways that is astounding to contemplate.

One of my work/life principles is: I work alone and at the same time connect with others to get results.

    Thanks for the reminder.

    Dean,

I appreciate your comment. I was just reading about Wilbur Wright. He was talking about an early German flight creator. He said about Lilienthal:

What one man can do himself directly is but little. If however he can stir up ten others to take up the task he has accomplished much.

EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT enriches everyone in the workplace. It is not sucking out more discretionary effort from employees.

Authentic employee engagement must function for the benefit of all: employees, leaders, organizations, and customers.

Employees have higher levels of satisfaction and contribution. Leaders are connected with employees and engaged themselves. The organization is functioning the way it should and customers are receiving the service they deserve.

Ultimately everyone is getting results that matter to them.

When this occurs, employee engagement transforms into a more powerful force --- workplace engagement.
