Jodee and Alexander:

Thanks for your comments. I still am in awe of the performance of our Winnipeg (Canadian) skaters.

Cindy Klassen is coming back to Winnipeg soon and she will be recognized for her inspiring sports contributions.

I apologize for the delay as I was getting spammed with comments for a while.

David

Thank you for that observation - that is truly inspiring.

I caught a little of the recent olympic games myself, and I was especially impressed by Emily Hughes.

In the finals, where most of her competitors looked extremely nervous, she came out with a smile so huge and brilliant, there was no way it could be fake.

About a third into her program she fell - and then got up and went on with an even bigger smile and even more power. She nailed the rest of her program and ended in 6th place, I believe.

Her mother was asked at a press conference what her daughter's greatest strength was. Her answer: "She's a happy kid!"

Beautiful!

Wow - I consider myself an honorary Canadian ever since my days in Rolla, ND ... 10 miles south of the Manitoba border - and I couldn't be prouder of these two skaters. It was so fun to see them on the medal stand together, and to hear Oh Canada being played in both their honors.

Thanks for sharing this outstanding perspective from a couple of classy ladies!

Have a great day, ay!

Jodee
