As January settles into Winnipeg and the temperature hovers around -30 it is good to remember the Buddhist principle of impermanence. I am snow happy for impermanence. Hopefully by Valentine’s day Winnipeg will heat up.

Hi Dave and thanks for the reminder. I had the pleasure of traveling to Boca Raton, Florida from Dec. 26-Jan. 31 to visit my parents. The weather was gorgeous, and I got to wear shorts and go swimming every day. When I returned to Boston on Dec. 31, we got 6 inches of gusty wind-driven snow that is just starting to melt now. I was bemoaning the harsh return to winter and the wearing of a heavy coat, hat, mittens and shoveling snow. I experienced the impermanence first hand and did not appreciate it. Thanks to your post, I appreciate it now.
Patty,
I am glad I could help someone in Boston appreciate impermanence.
David
