YES! magazine had a succinct article on 10 Things Science Says Will Make You Happy:

  1. Savor everyday moments
  2. Avoid comparisons
  3. Put money low on the list
  4. Have meaningful goals
  5. Take initiative at work
  6. Make friends, treasure family
  7. Smile even when you don’t feel like it
  8. Say thank you like you mean it
  9. Get out and exercise
  10. Give it away, give it away now

    Anytime I read anything about scientists or science trying to justify, describe or prove anything about happiness, my skepticism is immediately raised. This however, is one I definitely agree with. Thanks for the link.

    Haha, when I saw this title in my RSS reader, the first thing that popped to my mind was “Yes Man,” which of course got me in a fit of giggles.

    I definitely agree with these, especially more smiling, saying thank you, and exercising. Whenever I’m feeling stressed, or even just bored, I go out for a run. The fresh air and workout really do help!

    They all sound like sound ideas. I actually try to live many of these concepts. It’s not always easy, but I try.
