Bottoms Up on Employee Engagement

Here is a false phrase bandied around many offices and workplaces: “It all comes down to the bottom line.”  This is often used to say that money, is the ultimate determiner of what should take place at work and the bottom line is the ultimate deciding factor on business decisions.

This is wrong.

The bottom line is a false bottom as the child-like image above portrays. We must never forget that below the bottom line are all the people holding it up!

We need to delve deeper into our business cases of strictly numbers to recognize all the people inside the case who make those numbers happen.

Our foundation at work is people not numbers and we must go from dollars and cents to a full sense of the people who are the lifeblood of our organization.
